guide to South Gippsland

the historic lime kilns at Walkerville South beach

accommodation and things to do in Walkerville and Sandy Point

If you're exploring the beaches of South Gippsland, Walkerville and Sandy Point offer some of the best.

Walkerville

Just 20 minutes southeast of the River Drive Motel, Walkerville is a small community with stunning beaches that look out across to Wilson's Promontory. It's a great blend of natural beauty and history, with several walks that can take you around the historic lime kilns, cemetery, and the legendary Walky Kiosk.

Sandy Point

Head further along the coast to Sandy Point to explore the Shallow Inlet Coastal Park and a patrolled surf beach. It’s a great spot for both quiet exploration and more active beach days, with a unique coastal environment that’s well worth the short drive.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the beautiful land on which we work, love and play.
We pay our deepest respects to elders, past and present, from here and surrounding communities, looking after their land and families.
